My goal as a health care practitioner is to find the best solutions to meet your needs. Each one of you brings a unique story and biology to the table. It includes your whole being - physical, emotional and spiritual.

My main tool is a powerful and effective energy healing system that both stimulates the body to heal itself, as well as gives insights into what is happening in the body (at least on an energetic level). It is called Quantum Energetics Structured Therapy™ (QEST).

Food is key and finding those that work best for you is part of the discovery process. Herbs, supplements and light therapy complement QEST™ in addressing the root causes  of your health issues so that you can find optimal health.

Optimal health so that you can pursue your hopes and dreams, no matter what they are.

My Story

I've been interested in food and agriculture since I did a paper for my college biology class. I chose the topic of food and population issues. This was the time of the Green Revolution. I had dropped out of my piano program at Lewis and Clark University and started taking biology and chemistry classes. From there, I decided that I wanted to be a plant breeder. I was interested in producing food for our growing global population. It didn't take me long (after working on various agricultural projects including counting barley and sugar beet chromosomes) to figure out that I was a generalist. I wanted to study a lot of different things.

I got interested in agricultural development and in the fall of 1978 I traveled to South America with a college friend. I worked for room and board on a small farm in central Brazil. What an experience! I had never grown my own food before! I learned to milk a cow, take care of chickens, plant rice with a hand held seeder and plow with a horse. Little did I know that I would love the hands on part of growing food and the pleasure of eating mostly food that we had grown ourselves. It was life changing.

And to see happiness and hospitality among those with much less resources than I.

When I returned to Ft. Collins, Colorado to finish my last year of school, I met up with a young man named Frank whose father had a farm just east of town. With a little persuasion, he talked his dad into renting an acre of the farm to us and we were in business with Inch by Inch Vegetables, one of the first little organic farms in Colorado. Long story short, Frank and I wound up farming the whole farm as we expanded our original Inch By Inch Vegetables.

Well, another ten years I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was training to be a Waldorf School teacher for our local school at the time and a wise, older woman I knew told me that I should go see a woman named Judith Heath. I had just had surgery and was about to start chemotherapy. I knew that if I was going to do that, then I had better support my body. I think I already knew instinctively that cancer is a systemic problem.

I did go see Judith and decided after I quit teaching that I wanted to learn how to do Quantum Energetics Structured Therapy™. It had helped me through the chemo and I continue to be cancer-free.

I want to help other people feel good so they could unfold their own gifts.

Food became a central interest as I developed quite a skin condition on the palms of my hands. They were totally flaked over and it was only by taking out wheat (I was a confirmed carboholic and being a single mom depended on pasta and bread) did the scabbing go away.

Later, as I did research using Quantum Energetics Structured Therapy™ to help children with learning challenges, I was further piqued by the impact of food on cognition. My colleague, Kathy Dickson and I, worked with 8 children with varying learning challenges. 2 of the 8 responded dramatically while the others less so. In looking at those two children, it looked like food might be a factor. That lead me down the path of understanding food and its impacts on health, cognition, mood and behavior.

Not long after, I was asked by one of my clients to check her young son for food sensitivities as she had been doing her own research on food and behavior. I did so. She took her child off those foods and saw dramatic changes in his behavior.

Meanwhile, I had developed not only wheat sensitivity but gluten as well. Anytime I would go out for a meal, in about 5 days, my heels would crack and hands get flaked. After doing a gut program through The Whole Journey, I started to understand the importance of the microbes and unhealthy populations in gut health and therefore, overall health. Addressing the microbiome and its imbalances is part of healing a leaky gut.

I believe that healing you leaky gut is probably the most important work I can do in conjunction with the foundational work we have as part of Quantum Energetics Structured Therapy™ .

With the Human Microbiome Project wrapped up in 2013, we are witnessing the leading edge of research for human health. I continually get training in working with an individual’s microbiome for health and wellness. We can use food, culinary herbs and spices, medicinal herbs, supplements and QEST™ to help build a healing community of organisms in your gut to help your overall health. It's very exciting and rewarding!

Currently, I am proud and excited to be a student of Full Body Systems through The Functional Nutritional Alliance. This is a robust full body approach that is firmly grounded in the core importance of healing the gastrointestinal tract for optimal health, no matter what our clients’ health concerns.
